cowboy hatCrazy for You is a romantic love musical with a book by Ken Ludwig, lyrics by Ira Gershwin, and music by George Gershwin. Billed as “The New Gershwin Musical Comedy”, it is largely based on the songwriting team’s 1930 musical, Girl Crazy, but incorporates songs from several other productions as well. Crazy for You won the 1992 Tony Award for Best Musical.

A Banker, Bobby Child who would rather be in show business, is sent by his mother to foreclose a mortgage on a property in Deadrock, Arkansas. The property turns out to be a theatre. Then Bobby falls in love with the postmistress who’s father happens to be the man owing on the mortgage on the theatre. In the end, they put on a show to save the theatre.
