Friendswood Junior High School
The staff, students, parents, and community of Friendswood Junior High are devoted to academic excellence and the cultivation of individual strengths and talents for all students. The school will provide a supportive climate and promote self-reliance, self-esteem, and respect for the rights of others.
Friendswood Junior High School is located in Friendswood, Texas primarily a residential area located in the northwestern corner of Galveston County, approximately 25 miles from downtown Houston.
We are the only Junior High School in the Friendswood Independent School District.
Friendswood Junior High School houses approximately 1500 students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
Friendswood Junior High School is a TEA Exemplary campus and are proud to be a part of a TEA Exemplary district.
Our goal is to assist our students in the development of their academic skills, as well as provide them with opportunities to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities.
Seventh and eighth grade classes are set up in a team format. A student will be on a team of four core teachers who specialize in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
A Proud Friendswood History
Friendswood Schools opened in 1949. The building served as a K-12 School. This campus was located on Spreading Oaks Drive. It enlarged and changed over the years to become solely FJH. In 2008 a bond was passed for a new campus. The newly designed Centennial Park campus located at 1000 Manison Parkway, opened in 2010.
