Friendswood ISD Summer Protocols for Staff and Visitors

Staff: FISD Requirements and Protocols for Arrival, Stay, and Departure

Arrival at the building

● Complete self-screening document (google form) before beginning work. Post QR sign near employee entrances for easy access. Employees that do not have access to google form should complete the paper version located near their time clock. Supervisor will review forms online and/or paper daily. Paper forms should be retained for documentation. If a supervisor is informed that an employee has indicated they have symptoms, contact the Executive Director of Safety and Operations immediately. Follow the procedures for those experiencing symptoms.

● Staff will use provided hand sanitizer upon entry to the building (hand washing is preferred)

Stay at the building

● Maintain 6 feet social distancing

● Facial coverings will be worn when social distancing is not possible

● Groups/Meetings/Trainings will be limited to 11 individuals and appropriate social distancing 6 feet is required

● Wipe down work surfaces before beginning of the day

● Do not share items that are difficult to clean or disinfect

● Communal eating areas can be used if employees maintain 6 feet social distancing and disinfect their eating space afterwards

● Workrooms and copy rooms that are shared space, equipment used must be wiped down after individual use

Departing the building

● Hand sanitizer will be available

● Wipe down work surfaces before leaving

Experiencing Symptoms

● Individuals who have experienced one or more COVID symptoms may return when ALL three of the following criteria are met:

  1. at least three days (72 hours) have passed since recovery (resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications); and
  2. the individual has improvement in symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); and
  3. at least ten days have passed since symptoms first appeared

OR the individual obtains a medical professional’s note clearing the individual for return based on an alternative diagnosis.


● Sign in on the self screening document which will be available to complete at the front desk.

● Maintain social distancing while meeting

● Facial coverings will be worn when social distancing is not possible

● The only FISD buildings open to visitors are FISD Administration and FHS. Other than dropping off or picking up materials, appointments with staff should be scheduled.

● No personal visitors and/or children allowed on campus unless directly involved in a school function.
